AS Roma have congratulated former player, Mohamed Salah on Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final victory.
The Reds were beaten 4-2 by Roma in the second leg of the semi-final at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, but advanced 7-6 on aggregate.
Roma came close to pulling off a dramatic comeback, but could not take several chances that fell their way in the second half.
The Italian club, through their official Twitter account, wished the Egyptian international good luck in the final against Real Madrid.
“It hurts so much that AS Roma’s incredible dream of going all the way to Kiev is over,” Roma wrote on Twitter.
“But you’ll be there in your new colours. Good luck in the Champions League final, Mo Salah. #ForzaRoma #YNWA”.
Meanwhile, Salah, who moved from Rome to Merseyside last summer, tormented his old club in the first leg, scoring twice and setting up two further goals for Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
The forward was quieter on his return to the Stadio Olimpico, though, with Liverpool surviving a scare to progress to the final despite Roma winning the second leg 4-2.
