Roma legend, Francesco Totti, has lauded Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah ahead of the Reds’ Champions League’s semi-final first leg clash with Roma on Tuesday night at Anfield.
Totti played alongside Salah at Roma before the Egyptian international joined Jurgen Klopp’s men for £39 million last summer.
The 41-year-old, however, believes Klopp has played a vital role in Salah’s impressive first season at Liverpool.
“To some extent, it surprises me that [Salah] has been doing so well in his first season at Liverpool,” Totti told Liverpool’s official website.
“But, on the other hand, considering the quality of the squad, the coach they have – Klopp, to me, is one of the best coaches in the world – it didn’t surprise me.
“They put him in the condition to express himself at his best.”
Meanwhile, Salah won the Premier League PFA Player of the Year for this season at the weekend.
The forward has been Liverpool’s standout performer this term, scoring 41 goals for the Reds so far.
