Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has heaped praise on Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi after the Argentine scored twice to see off Liverpool at Camp Nou.
A first half strike from Luis Suarez and two second half goals from Messi ensured that Barca defeated Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League semi final clash on Wednesday.
It was Messi’s 600th goals for Barcelona.
“Lionel Messi’s a phenomenal player,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“He’s got everything. He’s one of the best ever, if not the best.
“I’m delighted to be here, I feel blessed. This is the stuff I can tell my kids about. He can decide a game as and when he chooses.”
Liverpool will hope to upturn the scoreline when they receive Barcelona at Anfield for the second leg next Tuesday.
