Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has identified centre-back, Fikayo Tomori as Chelsea’s best defender following the Blues’ 2-1 victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Tammy Abraham gave the Premier League side the lead, but Lille levelled before half-time through Victor Osimhen.
Willian settled the affair with a 77th-minute volley at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
But, Ferdinand now believes that Tomori is Chelsea’s best performer in their last three games, adding that the youngster has huge talent.
“Huge talent he is (in reference to Tomori). That was the best defender on the pitch,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“Everything he did – his tenacity, his anticipation, his willingness to step up and make quick decisions. He knew there were dangers.
“This is Chelsea’s best performer in their last three games. This is what you want from a centre-back,” he added.
Chelsea will now tackle Southampton in the Premier League this weekend on Sunday.
