Champions League: Pogba reveals what Mourinho told him about penalty technique

Paul Pogba has thanked Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United teammates for letting him keep the penalty duties.

Pogba scored from the spot in Wednesday’s 3-0 Champions League win over Young Boys in Bern.

The Frenchman started his bizarre run up, which took nine seconds and 26 steps, before he converted the penalty.

It was the third penalty Pogba has converted this season, but he had missed his previous attempt when Burnley goalkeeper, Joe Hart denied him at Turf Moor earlier this month.

The Frenchman revealed that Mourinho has allowed him to keep the job ahead of other notable contenders like Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez

“I didn’t have any doubts about taking the penalty.

“I know I missed that one against Burnley. Joe Hart got me that time but I won’t do the same mistake.

“I had the confidence of the players. They let me take it and I should thank them for this, as well as the manager. He let me take it as well,” Pogba said, according to SportsMail.
