Champions League: Pogba four others set to miss Manchester United clash against Sevilla

Five key players of Manchester United may be out of the Champions League clash against Sevilla.

The players include Paul Pogba, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Ander and Herrera. They all missed morning training ahead of the match.

For 24-year-old Pogba, he was not named in Jose Mourinho’s squad which pulled off a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the weekend after sustaining a thigh injury in training.

There were hopes that he would return in time for Tuesday night’s second leg match against Sevilla but the Frenchman was absent at United’s Carrington training base on Monday morning.

Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Daley Blind were also missing, while Eric Bailly was present after an injury scare on Saturday.

The Red Devils head into the Old Trafford clash with the scoreline goalless following the first leg at the Ramon Sánchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Mourinho admitted at the weekend that he was unsure whether Pogba would be ready to face Sevilla.

He said, “I don’t know.

“He’s downstairs now and I will go and speak with him. The injury?

“It was contact with a player in the last minute of the training session [on Friday].

“If I finished the session one minute before, it wouldn’t have happened.”
