Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, popularly known as Neymar has slammed referee, Bjorn Kuipers after the draw with Napoli, claiming that the Dutchman was ‘disrespectful’ towards him.
Juan Bernat opened the scoring for PSG but Napoli equalized in the second half through Lorenzo Insigne to keep Group C wide open.
During stoppage time, Neymar was shown a yellow card for arguing with Kuipers before taking a free-kick, and the Brazilian had to be pulled away from confronting the referee by fellow teammate, Kylian Mbappe.
“I don’t care about the mistakes that can happen,” Metro UK quoted Neymar as saying after the match.
“The referee is a human being and can make mistakes, even clear ones like the penalty.
“The way he treats players is disrespectful.
“What he told me lacked respect, that’s why I lost control and said him a few words.
“He has to respect the players. It’s not because he has a whistle or a card that he is above everyone.
“I condemn him for the way he treated me. I hope the people above him can do something about it.”
