Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted that Sevilla matched his team in their Champions League round of 16 clash on Wednesday, which is why they failed to win in Spain.
United held the LaLiga side to a 0-0 draw, but had goalkeeper David De Gea to thank for the result, as he made a number of crucial saves.
“No, not relieved (in regards to a goalless draw). The game was even. The stats are what it is. I feel the result reflects what the game was.
“The team defended well and when we made mistakes, David [De Gea] was obviously there,” Mourinho told the media afterwards.
The Portuguese also gave an update on Ander Herrera’s injury. The Spanish midfielder was replaced by Paul Pogba after 17 minutes, leaving the pitch with an obvious hamstring injury.
“I think it is a bad injury (Herrera). He had a small injury that stopped him for the last couple of matches but the medical team said he was 100% ready for the last Saturday. It didn’t look like he was fully fit,” Mourinho said.
