Champions League: Mourinho responds to Scholes’ criticisms after Valencia draw

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has insisted he is not bothered about criticism from the club’s former player, Paul Scholes.

Scholes claimed Mourinho was “embarrassing the club”, ahead of the Champions League clash with Valencia on Tuesday night.

The former United midfielder also claimed that he was “surprised” that Mourinho was still in charge, following the 3-1 defeat to West Ham over the weekend.

However, Mourinho refused to engage in a verbal spat with Scholes after United were held to a goalless draw by Valencia, in their second Champions League group game on Tuesday night.

“I don’t need to know what he said.

“He said what he wants to say, I’m not interested, honestly, I’m not interested.

“Freedom of speech, free country, you can say what you want,” Mourinho said.
