Kylian Mbappe netted a brace, while Sven Bender scored an own goal as Monaco beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday evening.
Fabinho missed a penalty for the Ligue 1 one, before Mbappe opened scoring for his side. Bender headed past his own goalkeeper, as Monaco went two goals up.
Ousmane Dembeled pulled one back for Thomas Tuchel’s side, but Mbappe restored their two-goal lead, capitalizing on a defensive error to blast the ball into the roof of the net.
Shinji Kagawa reduced the deficit in the dying minutes of the game.
The match was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but had to be moved after explosions took place near Dortmund’s team bus.
According to Bild, three explosive devices were deposited on the street in front of the bus.
