Champions League: Manchester City vs Liverpool: Team news, injuries, possible lineups

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will on Tuesday night clash with Liverpool at the Etihad in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals match.

Guardiola’s men will hope to beat the Reds and qualify for the semi-finals of the competition after losing the first leg 3-0 at Anfield last week.

Apart from Benjamin Mendy, who is a long-term absentee due to injury, Guardiola’s side will otherwise be at full strength as they go in search of the three goals needed to at least force extra time.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool heads into their second leg rounds of eight Champions League clash with City after playing a goalless draw in their last match with Everton on Saturday in the Premier League.

Klopp will be pleased that no momentum has been lost in his side’s quest to reach a first Champions League semi-final since 2008.

Mohamed Salah is having a groin injury and may start the game from the bench.

Emre Can is having a back injury, while Jordan Henderson is on one-match suspension.

Alberto Moreno injured his thigh in the warm-up at Goodison Park.

Joel Matip has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a thigh injury, while Adam Lallana is having a hamstring injury.

Joe Gomez will not play due to ankle injury.

Manchester City potential lineups (4-3-3): Ederson, Delph, Walker, Kompany, Stones, Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane, Sterling, Aguero.

Liverpool potential lineups (4-3-3): Karius; Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

The kick off time for the match is 7:45pm.
