Manchester City have sent a congratulatory message to Tottenham after the London side edged them out of the Champions League on Wednesday.

Tottenham edged City out of the competition in an epic encounter, advancing on away goals after the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.

Five goals were scored in the opening 21 minutes, and a controversial goal from Fernando Llorente decided the game.

The VAR also disallowed Raheem Sterling’s late winner.

City showed their class after the game with their tweet congratulating Tottenham on their win.

They also wished them well in their semi-final encounter against Ajax.

The Citizens tweeted, “Congratulations and good luck.”

It was a response to Tottenham’s earlier tweet, which read, “What a night! We’re Champions League semifinalist.”
