Champions League: Klopp singles out 2 Liverpool players for praise after 1-0 win over Napoli

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has singled out two of his players for special praise after they beat Napoli 1-0 at Anfield last night.

He said his goalkeeper Alisson Becker even left him speechless with his performance.

The German also praised Mohamed Salah, whose goal was enough to see Liverpool get all three points.

Alisson was required to make a number of important saves to see Liverpool go through the Champions League round of 16.

Liverpool held a 1-0 lead as time ran out, enough to progress to the next round.

A single goal would have put Napoli through.

Klopp told post match press conference, “The goal Mo scored: what a goal. Unbelievable. And the save Ali made: I have no words for that.

“That was of course a life-saver tonight. I’m really proud of what the boys did tonight.

“It was not only one save. He had a lot of things to do tonight. How cool and calm he was with the ball, helps us a lot in our build-up situation, when he comes out for crosses he’s outstanding.

“And yes that save was just incredible, but if we don’t defend the whole pitch today, Ali cannot make 20 saves like the last one. But he did it.

“Incredible. Unbelievable. I’ve never seen something similar. But still he needs the other boys around.”
