Barcelona captain, Andres Iniesta has reacted to Barcelona’s shocking 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Champions League quarter final second leg on Tuesday.
Barca had 4-1 advantage going into the second leg in Rome but were beaten 3-0 by the Italians who went through to the semi-final.
Iniesta admitted that he might not play another Champions League in his career. The midfielder is considering quiting the club at the end of the season.
He noted that Roma did so well, adding that the Italian targeted the right areas.
He told reporters, “[That this was my last Champions League game] is a possibility and for that reason it hurts even more,” when asked if he thought he’d play in the competition again.
“It’s a very hurtful elimination because nobody expected it due to the lead we had.
“When you do things badly, make lots of mistakes and don’t adapt to the game, this is what happens.
“It’s a big disappointment because of the season we were having.”
“They had it very clear in their minds where to attack us,” he said.
“It’s difficult to take this elimination because we had a lot of hope and it has escaped.”
Barcelona now turn their focus back to LaLiga, where they host Valencia this weekend.
