Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris has disclosed how Mauricio Pochettino’s side will stop Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi when both teams clash in tonight’s Champions League fixture at Camp Nou.
According to Lloris, the only way Spurs will stop Messi was to do that as a team and also put in a great performance against the hosts.
Tottenham head to the game following a 2-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League last weekend, while Barcelona defeated Espanyol 4-0 in the La Liga.
“It’s always a special game to play against Barca in the Nou Camp, it’s a special place, one of the best,” Lloris was quoted by Mirror UK as saying at pre-match.
“The context is different for us and them, but they know that when you wear a Barca shirt you’re obliged to win whatever the context, and they’ll want to do that.
“It won’t be easy but the most important thing is that we believe in our chances of getting through and play with 100 percent belief that we can do it.
“It’s very difficult to stop a player like Lionel Messi, and if we can do that we will need to as a team and have to put in a big performance.”
The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.
