Fresh footage has emerged showing how Juventus winger, Douglas Costa allegedly committed the crime that caused the sending off of legendary goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon during Real Madrid’s 3-1 loss to the Italians.
The footage showed that it was actually Costa that pushed Michael Oliver after Juventus swarmed the referee for awarding Real Madrid a late penalty.
The Old Ladies had miraculously scored three times at the Bernabeu in a stirring comeback and looked to be heading for extra-time.
But defender, Mehdi Benatia pushed over Lucas Vazquez in stoppage time and Juventus were livid with Oliver to award a late penalty and surrounded referee.
The veteran keeper, Buffon was given his marching orders for barging into the referee and shoving him in the process.
But another angle of the incident appears to show Douglas Costa sneak in from the same side as Buffon and threw his arm out towards Oliver.
When Oliver turned around to see who had shoved him, Costa had already sneaked out of shot and instead Buffon was towering over him yelling obscenities.
Speaking after the game, furious Buffon said, “It was a tenth of a penalty. I know the referee saw what he saw, but it was certainly a dubious incident.
“Not clear-cut. And a dubious incident at the 93rd minute when we had a clear penalty denied in the first leg, you cannot award that at this point.”
