Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his side will be without Gabriel Jesus and John Stones when they tackle Schalke 04 in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie on Wednesday night.
Guardiola said Jesus and Stones are both injured and are yet to recover.
According to the Spaniard, Jesus has a hamstring injury, while Stones is suffering from a groin injury.
Guardiola’s men head to the game following a 6-0 victory over Chelsea in a Premier League encounter two weeks ago.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s clash at the Veltins-Arena Stadium, Guardiola was quoted by Caughtoffside as saying: “John has a groin problem, Gabriel had a hamstring, not a big one for both according to the doctor but enough for them not to be here.”
The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.
