SuperSport pundit and former Everton defender, Joseph Yobo, has blamed Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino following Spurs’ Champions League final 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday night.
A first half goal from Mohamed Salah and a late second half strike from Divock Origi ensured Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Champions League ahead of Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
Yobo blamed Pochettino for starting Harry Kane, who just recovered from an injury instead of Lucas Moura that inspired Tottenham to beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-final encounter last month.
“If you look at this Spurs team we did said earlier that the coach [Pochettino] has a delimental to make his decision on who to play and he brought in Harry Kane instead of Lucas Moura,” Yobo told SuperSport in his post-match analysis.
“So we don’t know what went wrong with the coach.
“I think Liverpool deserve to go through with the way they played throughout the season and even getting to the final they are incredible.
“They lost the final last season and this season they came very strong,” he said.
