Former Egyptian international, Mido, has hailed Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos despite the defender injuring his (Mido’s) countryman, Mohamed Salah, during the Champions League final on Saturday.
Mido, 35, said he would like to have the defender in his squad due to his style of play.
Salah landed heavily on his arm after a tussle with the defender which has put his World Cup participation in doubt.
And the former Tottenham Hotspur striker, although displeased with the Spaniard’s antics, has praised the 32-year-old for his ‘character and capabilities.’
Mido told ON Sport, “I said before that Sergio Ramos’ intentions were clear in hurting Salah, however was this the first time for Ramos to be that aggressive?
“No, this is his style of play, he plans on threatening the opposition by being aggressive so they will not try to go past him again.
“After the final whistle, I was really angry at Ramos, because he hurt the player that I support, the one I was hoping could win the Champions League.
“But as a coach I would like to have a player with same character and capabilities as Ramos.”
