Champions League: Dortmund break Barcelona, Real Madrid goal record

Borussia Dortmund have set a new goalscoring record in the Champions League.

The Bundesliga club drew 2-2 with Real Madrid on Wednesday night, to finish top of Group F.

Their two goals at the Santiago Bernabeu, means that Dortmund has now scored 21 goals during the group stages of the Champions League – a new record.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United held the previous record of 20 goals.

Barcelona did it first in the 2011/2012 season, Real Madrid matched it in 2013/2014 and Manchester United achieved it in 1998/1999. Barca then equalled it again, after they crushed Borussia Mochengladback 4-0 Tuesday this week.
