Champions League clause included in Lampard’s deal to become Chelsea manager

Frank Lampard will earn a lucrative bonus, if Chelsea stay in the Champions League next season, SportsMail reports.

The former England midfielder on Monday, agreed a three-year contract with the Blues worth around £4million a year.

An official announcement is expected to be made by Wednesday morning.

It is understood there are a number of incentives linked to the deal, including a bonus for sealing Champions League qualification, which would push it closer to £5m.

However, there is uncertainty over whether Shay Given will join Lampard’s coaching team as the former Republic of Ireland international may stay on as Derby’s goalkeeping coach.

But Lampard is set to bring Jody Morris, the former Chelsea midfielder and coach, and Chris Jones with him.
