Champions League: Attack on Manchester City bus by Liverpool fans is fine, nice feeling – De

Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has defended Liverpool fans after Manchester City bus was attacked as they arrived for their Champions League quarter final first leg on Wednesday evening.

Manchester City now have a difficult task at hand after first-half goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane sealed a 3-0 victory for Liverpool at Anfield.

Liverpool supporters attacked Manchester City team bus which De Druyne himself was on, with missiles, and City were unable to use the same vehicle for their return to Manchester.

De Bruyne, however, insisted that the incident before the game did not have an impact on City’s loss.

He said, “It was OK. I don’t mind supporters doing that.

“I’ve had it before for my team. I think it’s a nice feeling. Breaking windows is probably not done. But who am I to say something? I’m OK with it, as long as nobody’s hurt I’m fine.

“No [it didn’t affect the players], it doesn’t change anything. As long as you keep the violence down there’s nothing wrong with it.”

Liverpool, meanwhile, have apologised to City for the attack on their bus, saying in a statement, “We apologise unreservedly to Pep Guardiola, his players, staff and officials caught up in the incident.

“The behaviour of a number of individuals was completely unacceptable and the club will cooperate fully with the authorities to identify those responsible.

“The priority now is to establish the facts and offer Manchester City whatever support is necessary.”
