Champions League: Arsene Wenger reveals who helped Tottenham in 3-0 win over Dortmund

Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has given credit to Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino, following their 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League round of 16 first leg encounter on Wednesday night.

Goals from Son Heung-min, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente handed Tottenham all three points against Dortmund.

Wenger believes Pochettino’s half-time team talk gave his players much more belief to attack the Bundesliga giants.

“Did they [Spurs] play with the handbrake? Did they play firstly not to concede?’ Wenger told beIN Sports.

“Pochettino, you must give him credit, he’s stick to the system but they changed their attitude in the second half.

“They were much more positive in the same system. “The first goal changed the whole game like last night when Paris Saint-Germain scored and Man United died.

“You could see tonight, when Tottenham scored their first goal it improved their belief and Dortmund never recovered from that as well.

“Possession was quite similar, shots on goal as well. But in the second half, I felt the physical power in every challenge made a huge difference.

“You could see the Premier League compared to the Bundesliga in the second half, the physicality made a huge difference.

“Every time, on every ball in the second half you could feel the Tottenham player would win the challenge and would be dangerous.”
