Senator Dino Melaye has released a clip of himself singing and dancing, after the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Ahmadu Bello University, Ibrahim Garba, confirmed to the Senate that Melaye graduated from the school.
On Monday, Garba appeared before the lawmakers, to answer questions on the certificate scandal.
Garba affirmed that Melaye possessed a genuine 3rd class degree in Geography, awarded by the institution in the year 2000.
In a reaction, SaharaReporters publisher Omoyele Sowore, said the Vice-Chancellor cherry-picked 400 Level “3rd Semester” results of Dino (formerly known as Daniel Jonah Melaye). He also insisted that the full records of the Department could not sustain the public claim.
Sowore said this via a statement published on his Facebook page on Monday.
He alleged that Dino Melaye connived with his former Head of Department (HOD), David Okoro Ogbonna, to get him ‘discharged’ as a graduate.
However, in a video posted on Twitter, Melaye said “you speak the truth, you die. You lie, you die.”
“I Dino Melaye, I have told you to speak the truth and die”, he added before breaking into a song and dance.
