The Lagos State Government has said the recent dissolution of government agencies and parastatals as directed by the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, does not affect the heads and chief executives of the organizations but their boards.
This clarification was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to the statement, the State House of Assembly Commission is also exempted from the dissolution directive.
“The clarification had become necessary because of different wrong interpretations given to the media announcement of the dissolution,” the statement said.
Governor Ambode had on Monday approved the dissolution of all boards of parastatals and agencies of government in the state, exempting only the State Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission.
