Cech-Gabriel-Mertesacker Dec2015 (1)

Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has broken the record for most clean sheets kept in the Premier League.

The Czech international passed David James and has not conceded 170 times, after the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday.

Cech needed 352 matches to achieve the milestone, while James who played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City and Portsmouth, reached 169 clean sheets in 572 games.

The 33-year-old moved to the Emirates from Chelsea in the summer of 2015 for £11m, after spending 11 years at Stamford Bridge.
