CCT trial: Don’t succumb to intimidation by stepping down as Senate President – Kwara Youths c

A group known as the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has charged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki not to succumb to any form intimidation by stepping down from his position.

Chairman of the group, Comrade Shehu Usman in a statement issued in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital yesterday alleged that Saraki’s trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, was politically motivated by his opponents who were envious of his rising profile.

The statement reads, “We are confident and sure that soon Senator Bukola Saraki will be vindicated and acquitted from all the allegations”.

“The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter wishes to state and affirm our unalloyed support to the president of the senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki in the current challenge faced at the Code of Conduct Tribunal”.

“Kwara youth believes that the current battle is politically motivated by his political opponents who are envious of his rising profile.

“As it has been stated and clearly shown to all Nigerians that this is not a case of financial misappropriation nor embezzlement but rather political persecution and witch hunt to distract him from his purposeful leadership of the national assembly.

“The teeming youths of Kwara call on politicians in the country to stop politics by considering the efforts of Senator Saraki in establishing a virile national assembly with good working relationship with the executive arm of government and also his invaluable contributions to the emergence of the present government of change we are enjoying in Nigeria today.”
