The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has issued hearing notices and served same on parties that the trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki over a 13-count charge of false assets declaration will resume on March 10, 2016.
This followed a letter reportedly written on behalf of the Federal Government by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, informing the tribunal of the recent judgment of the Supreme Court which directed the lower court to continue with the case. He was said to have attached a copy of the Supreme Court’s judgment in the letter to the Danladi Umar-led CCT on Monday.
The Head, Press and Public Relations of the CCT, Mr. Ibraheem Al-hassan, confirmed to The Punch that the tribunal issued and served hearing notices on the parties on Friday.
“We have issued and served the hearing notice today,” Al-hassan was quoted by the newspaper as saying.
