Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of the Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, for a second term.
DAILY POST reports that Buhari on Thursday nominated Emefiele for a second term.
It was gathered Thursday morning that the President sent a letter nominating the CBN governor for another term to the Senate President in line with the CBN Act.
The financial expert has been Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria since June 3, 2014.
Confirming the report to DAILY POST, Saraki’s new media aide, Olu Onemola said, ”Senate President just read the letter.”
Reacting, Omokri, who is a staunch critic of Buhari, commended the President’s nomination of Emefiele for a second term.
According to him, this has shown that Buhari is listening to Nigerians.
Omokri, on his Twitter page, wrote: “I am a critic of President @MBuhari because I believe he is inept, and tribalistic. However, when he does well, I must commend him.
“In nominating Godwin Emefiele for a 2nd term, Buhari showed he is listening and is slowly shedding his clannish nature. For that, I commend him.”
