Santi Cazorla may have played his last game for Arsenal.
The Spaniard has not featured for the Gunners, since he limped off during their 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League last October.
An Achilles problem has led to multiple operations. And now, Express Sport reports Cazorla now faces the prospect of being sidelined for almost two full seasons in succession.
The news will come as a big blow to manager Arsene Wenger, who was hoping to have the playmaker available for the 2017/2018 campaign.
Arsenal opted to renew Cazorla’s contract last term until the summer of 2018, despite his many injury lay-offs. However, it is understood Cazorla’s best hope of returning to action, will potentially be for Arsenal’s U-23s, no earlier than April 2018.
