Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has said that Chelsea will need as much as a year to be on the same level with Liverpool. Sarri said this after his side drew 0-0 with West Ham on Sunday
Chelsea will face Liverpool on Wednesday night in a Carabao Cup tie.
The Italian said the Carabao Cup match against the Reds has the potential to be “spectacular”, and revealed he could make as many as 11 changes for the encounter.
“We have to face a team very very good, a team that has worked with the same coach four or five years, I don’t know exactly,” said Sarri.
“They are a step forward than us at the moment. We have started to work altogether 40 days ago and less time with the international teams.
“For us it is a bit early. We have to work and improve and then maybe in a year it will be the same level as Liverpool.
“They have had one more day of rest. I want to see the picture of the situation tomorrow morning in the training session. I don’t know, maybe I will change 11, maybe five.”
