Carabao Cup: Mourinho speaks on Manchester United’s win at Swansea

Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, says he saw the right “attitude” from his team during their Carabao Cup win over Swansea, after criticising his players after the defeat to Huddersfield.

Two goals from Jesse Lingard earned a 2-0 win at the Liberty Stadium, to book a place in the quarter-finals.

“Since the first minute we felt we were in the game. We had immediately a couple of corners, we were pressing high, we were comfortable on the pitch. The attitude was good.

“We were solid and we were in control. The attitude was very good. I’m really happy and it was quite comfortable. A good day for us,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.

Lingard, who scored either side of half-time, said the players had been keen to bounce back after what happened at Huddersfield.

He said: “Since the weekend we have been working hard on the training pitch and we had to put things right.

“I think we’ve learned from it. We’ll move on and concentrate on the next game.”
