Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has said that things fell apart quickly, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed the first chance, in their Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City .
Aubameyang failed to connect twice with Mesut Ozil’s cutback in the early exchanges, before Sergio Aguero gave City the lead.
Vincent Kompany and David Silva added more goals in the second half, as Pep Guardiola won his first trophy in English football.
“I felt in the game we had the first good chance, a very easy one we missed. After that we made a big mistake on the first goal.
“We didn’t give too many chances away today but we gave easy chances away.
“We are unlucky because the second goal was offside and after that it was too much for us. Overall congratulations to Man City, they deserve the win.
“When you lose games, you have to accept to be criticised. I believe that we have to recover quickly. We have to be focused on the next Premier League game,” Wenger said afterwards.
Arsenal host City on Thursday in the Premier League.
