Car-snatching syndicate meets waterloo in Benue (PHOTOS)

A car-snatching syndicate, which has been terrorizing Makurdi, the Benue State capital and its environs has been smashed by the Benue State Police Command.

The four-man gang was arrested by men of the Benue State Police command during the week.

Confirming the development to DAILY POST, the Benue State Police PRO, ASP Moses Yamu gave the names of the suspects as, Viashima Mue, Liambe Tor, Anayo Edwin and Bright Eze.

Among the items recovered from the suspects were, a red Lexus RX 330, with the registration number, JUX 06 AA.

He said the vehicle was originally ash in colour when it was stolen from its owner about in October at Ankpa ward, beside Ternadoo Nursery and Primary school Makurdi but was painted to red.

The police imagemaker added that investigation by the command led to the arrest of the above-mentioned syndicate and the recovery of another black Toyota Highlander SUV with the registration number, DL 958 ABJ from them.

He noted that the original registration number of the Highlander was JUX 06 AA.

The police PRO added that assorted phones were also recovered from the robbers.

Yamu stressed further that efforts were still on to recover more stolen items and to arrest other members of the gang.
