Mukhtar Ramalan Yero
Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero on Tuesday appealed to the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Kaduna State Chapter to call off its ongoing strike for the sake of normalcy in the judiciary system of the state.
Speaking during swearing in ceremony of Justice Nasiru Umar Sadiq as Judge of the High Court, Governor Yero said the ongoing strike cannot resolve the demands of the judiciary workers, hence the need for immediate suspension of the action.
He said: “Let me use this opportunity to appeal to JUSUN to call of the strike, we cannot use strike to resolve this matter, because it is an internal problem.
“We promise to do our best to give you what you are asking for, but it may not be possible to give you the entire funding at the same time because we don’t get the entire State allocation at the same time.
“But we will do our best and you need to call of the strike so that we can continue to dialogue on these issues.”
While congratulating the new judge, Yero admonished him to use his wealth of experience having also served as an administrator to improve the judiciary in the State, saying “you must never forget the oath of office you just took and remember we shall all account our deeds to the Almighty God on the Day of Judgment.”
Governor Yero also appointed Alhaji Ya’u Garba Jumare as Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service.
He called on civil servants in the State to continue to work hard in order to attain the peak of their careers.
