CAF Confederation Cup: Zesco United vow to end Rangers’ dream

Head coach of Zesco United, Zlatko Krmpotic, has expressed his confidence that his side will see off Enugu Rangers in their CAF Confederation Cup play-offs return leg this Saturday.

Krmpotic was speaking to his club official portal and said their 2-2 draw away in Nigeria, makes them favourites to qualify for the group stage of the competition.

Osas Okoro opened scoring for Rangers with a 24th minute penalty and completed his brace a minute after the break.

However, the Flying Antelopes allowed Zesco back into the game.

The visitors pulled one back through David Owino in the 71st minute and went on to equalize five minutes later through Patrick Konogolo.

“This a good result for us but it is only the first leg. We still have 90 minutes to play and it will be different at home and I think we have the ability to win the final leg and qualify to the group stage,” he said.

The Zambia giants will seeking a win or at least a scoreless draw, for them to progress to the group stage that kicks off in May this year.
