Rivers United beat 10-man KCCA of Uganda 2-1, in a CAF Confederation Cup fixture played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Bernard Ovoke and Fredrick Obomate netted early goals for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, to establish a two-goal lead.
But Geoffrey Serunkuma pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.
KCCA’s Habib Kavuma was sent off for a second yellow card in the 89th minute, killing off the Ugandans’ hope of taking at least one point.
The victory sees Rivers United move to the second position in Group A.
They will face Club Africain at home on July 2.
