Rangers International FC of Enugu has advanced to the 1st round of the CAF Total Champions League.
The qualification came on Sunday after holding visiting JS Saoura of Algeria to a goalless draw at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium, Enugu, in the 2nd leg of the preliminary match.
The Nigeria professional football league NPFL defending champions, had fortnight ago held the Algerian side to a 1-1 draw.
With the development, the flying Antelopes have now advanced to the first round of the African elites game.
The 25,000 capacity Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, fondly called (Cathedral), venue for the continental encounter was filled to the brim, as teeming Rangers fans and supporters trooped out to cheer their darling team to victory.
Also present at the stadium was Enugu state governor, Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, the chairman senate committee on sports, Senator Obinna Ogba, among other dignitaries.
the Flying Antelope had during the 1st and 2nd half of the game missed several chances of kissing their opponent’s net, even as the visiting side displayed fantastic soccer artistry during the 90 minutes of the match.
Meanwhile, the Algerian side has been knock out of the competition.
