CAF Champions League exit: We were not good enough – Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh

Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh, has admitted they were not good enough, after they were eliminated from this year’s CAF Champions League by Zamalek.

The People’s Elephant lost 1-0 to their hosts in Alexandria on Monday, despite needing all three points to stand a chance of qualification.

Enyimba have zero points after three round of games and will play Mamelodi Sundowns in their final game for formality sake.

“We tried out best but it was not good enough. We will move on from this,” Udoh said.

Udoh, who scored seven goals during the qualifying rounds of the competition, accepts that his form tailed off in the group stages.

“I did not have enough playing time in the group stage and so I could not score more goals,” he said.
