The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari over his claim that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris disobeyed him on the lingering crisis in Benue.
President Buhari on Monday denied knowledge of days which the IGP spent in Benue State after he was ordered to relocate to the state.
Addressing stakeholders at the Government House in Makurdi on Monday, the President said he was just learning of the alleged non-compliance by the IGP.
He promised to engage the IGP for inquires upon his return to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
“What I did was to call him and give him the directive. I didn’t know he moved here (Benue State) and didn’t spend … and then moved to Nasarawa. It’s only now that I am knowing that.
“But I know I dispatched him here,” the President said.
Reacting, the National Chairman of the PDP in a short statement to Punch said Buhari was not in charge of the All Progressives Congress government.
According to him, Cabals were in charge and had hijacked government.
He said, “Buhari is not in charge of anything. He does not have genuine people around him.
“How can a President give a directive and it is ignored? Yet he did not know.
“How would he know when he surrounds himself with sycophants?”
Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose earlier described the president’s comments as unfortunate.
