Burkina Faso snubs Keshi, picks Rohr as new coach

Gernot Rohr has been appointed as the new coach of Burkina Faso, ahead of Stephen Keshi and former Ghana boss Milovan Rajevac.

The 61-year-old German made the final three-man shortlist alongside the African managers and was eventually picked as Paul Put’s successor.

Keshi is currently not attached to any team, as his contract with the Super Eagles expired after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, the Big Boss was keen on the Burkina Faso job.

“If I am hired by the grace of God, I would want to qualify Burkina Faso for the 2017 Afcon and why not the next World Cup as I did with Togo and Nigeria? Everything is possible provided the resources and support are provided,” Keshi told Sidwaya.
