President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said his principal will not talk about the recent killings in Southern Kaduna
He said the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was “on top of things”.
Adesina was speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television on Monday morning.
When asked about Buhari’s stance on the incidents, he replied: “Why should the President be talking about (Kaduna)? Governor El-Rufai is on top of things.”
El-Rufai himself has condemned the killings.
In a statement released by his media aide, Samuel Aruwan, he described the attacks as “inhumane and handiwork of forces of darkness.”
The Governor also promised that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
“Government and security agencies will not be deterred; we will continue to be resilient, up and doing and courageous in tackling this unfortunate situation,” the statement added.
“Their tactics are to create a chasm, divide people, breed hate and prejudice and plunge the state into chaos but we will triumph over these evil forces by the grace of Almighty God.
“No amount of evil will change our deep commitment. We will continue to be firm, decisive and put lives of our citizenry and their wellbeing as our ultimate goal”, he added.
