Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, has berated the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, over its decision on the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Following its National Executive Council meeting yesterday, NBA announced plans to embark on a two day boycott of court.
A statement issued at the end of the meeting had read: “The NBA-NEC Emergency meeting which was held today, the 28th of January 2019, ended with some resolutions.
“It was held that lawyers all over Nigeria boycott all courts in the land for two days starting from the 29th day of January, 2019.”
Reacting, Fani-Kayode wondered why NBA will embark on just two days boycott.
In a tweet, the former Minister wrote: “The NBA say they will boycott the courts for two days in reaction to the illegal removal of CJN Onnoghen!
“Is that what they call a protest and a reaction to tyranny, treason and a political coup d’etat? Shame on them. Buhari must be smiling by now. May God help Nigeria!”
