Buhari vs Atiku: Kwankwaso reacts to election results, tells PDP supporters what to do [AUDIO

Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso has asked the people of Kano State to accept the results of the presidential and national assembly elections in good faith

This was made known on Tuesday in an audio tweet of Kwankwaso’s speech to Kano electorates by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Bashir Ahmad.

In the audio, the bigwig of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spoke in Hausa to placate the people over the loss.

He said: “We, in the PDP, witnessed all that happened during the presidential and National Assembled elections.

“But, we are appealing to our supporters to be calm as we seek to reclaim our mandate though the process of law.

“Let no one take the laws into his hands. We urge our people to brace up for the coming governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.

“As for the Presidential election results, the APC won some states and the PDP also won some states. Only God knows what will happen in the near future but we should remember that no matter the final outcome, God is in charge.

“Let’s avoid a repeat of the 2011 post election violence that saw the loss of hundreds of lives and properties.”

DAILY POST reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the Presidential elections, all the three senatorial seats and many seats of the House of Representatives in Kano.

In the result announced in Kano, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC polled 1,464,768 (78.9%) of the vote cast, while Atiku Abubakar of the PDP polled 391,573 (21.1%).

A candidate must win at least 25 per cent of the votes in two thirds of the state, apart from winning majority votes to win the presidential election.
