President Muhammadu Buhari the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sokoto state.
Buhari in Sokoto polled 490,333 votes, while Atiku polled 361,604 votes.
Buhari obtained higher votes in 19 local government areas, while Abubakar got votes in four of Sokoto local governments.
INEC Collation officer announced this in Abuja at its collation center.
Total number of votes cast was 925,940.
