Buhari vs Atiku: Ex-VP, PDP hallucinating – Obaseki

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar was ‘hallucinating’.

Obaseki said this on Thursday in reaction to the claim by the PDP that Atiku Abubakar defeated Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by about 1.6 million votes and won the 2019 election from what the INEC server showed.

The governor spoke with State House correspondents after meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

DAILY POST recalls on Wednesday that the PDP national legal adviser, Emmanuel Enoidem, had in a petition to the election tribunal, requested that Atiku be declared the winner of last month’s presidential poll.

He stated in the party’s 139-page petition that, “From the data in the 1st respondent’s (INEC’s) server the true, actual and correct results from state to state computation, showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.”

Asked to respond to Atiku Abubakar’s claim that he won the elections with about 1.6 millions, Obaseki was quoted by the Nation as saying: “You heard the word, they are hallucinating.”

Obaseki added: “I came to congratulate the President on his victory in the polls. If you understand the Nigerian politics, I am the only APC governor in the South South and South East. So, it means I must keep a very close relationship with my President.”
