Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Kabiru Marafa, has said there was nothing bad in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s decision to contest the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at last Saturday’s presidential election.
Marafa said the decision of Abubakar to contest the outcome of the election in court was a normal human behaviour.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Buhari winner of the just concluded presidential election.
Buhari got 15, 191,847 votes to defeat Abubakar, who polled 11,262,978.
However, Marafa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, while speaking with State House correspondents said, “It is an inherent human behavior to always reject failure, so there is nothing new about the opposition’s rejection of President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory”.
Marafa stated that the most important thing was that “success has been recorded and have been accepted by Nigerians and the international community”.
