President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) will today visit Owerri, the Imo state capital.

A statement signed by Governor Rochas Okorocha’s media aide, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo and made available to journalists in Owerri said the incoming president is coming to say thank you to the people of the state.

DAILY POST recalls that Gen. Buhari was floored in Imo by President Jonathan.

“His Excellency, General Muhammadu Buhari, the President-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will be visiting the state to say thank to the people and government of the state for their unalloyed support that contributed greatly to his resounding victory at the polls on March 28, ” Onwuemeodo said.

The statement noted that God used Okorocha to make the state and the South-East geo-political zone to be part of the success story of General Buhari’s victory.

He however assured the people that they would be carried along in the in-coming government.

“In the new emerging order, everybody will be carried along and people will not be discriminated against on ground of their political leaning,” Onwuemeodo said.
