The National Secretary of the PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo, has said that it will be in the interest of Nigerians for President Goodluck Jonathan to win the February presidential poll.
According to him, Nigeria will not be safe in the hands of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
Oladipo stated this at a press conference in Osogbo on Monday to announce Jonathan’s visit to the state for his campaign.
He said that Nigerians could see that despite the numerous challenges confronting the nation, Jonathan was doing well and would not relent if he won another term in office.
Oladipo said, “Nigeria is safe in the hands of President Goodluck Jonathan. The President is doing a lot to keep the country going. It would have been worse if not for the wisdom he is using to direct the affairs of the nation.
“Buhari has only said he would clamp corrupt politicians in jail without resorting to court. He said he would stop insurgency. Ask him how? He does not know because he does not mean what he is saying.
“Buhari jailed somebody 301 years for allegedly stealing N5,000. He jailed the late Chief Bola Ige, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Sam Mbakwe and others without trial. Buhari and the APC leaders are dangerous to democracy. Nigeria is not safe in their hands.”
He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that every registered voter was allowed to vote in the February elections.
