Ibrahim Magu, a senior official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been elevated to the position of chairman of the commission.
According to SaharaReporters, the development follows Monday’s removal of Ibrahim Lamorde by the presidency.
Lamorde had held the position since 2011.
DAILY POST had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari was looking for a replacement for Lamorde.
Magu, an investigator, was removed along with several other key officials by Farida Waziri when she became chairman in 2008.
